Aqua the Vaporeon Chapter 20

(Aqua's POV)
After we came up with the plan, all of the Freedom Fighters, including myself, set out for New Mobotropolis. Along the way, I couldn't help but think about all of my friends. Were they hurt? What did those people do to them? If they even lay a single finger on one of my friends, they will regret ever even knowing me. Soon we got to the city and saw what I had feared. The city was covered in dark, gloomy, and depressing clouds. There were terrifying creatures on the Protective Wall, they were looking into the city. It was as if they were watching something. 'They're probably looking for anyone trying to escape.' I thought. We managed to get to a secret passageway Sally told me about when I first joined with the Knothole Freedom Fighters. It lead back to Freedom Fighter HQ. When we all got there, we saw that there had been a struggle. Everything was either turned upside down, or broken.  Then I noticed claw marks that lead to the door. "Hey guys, check this out," I said pointing to the claw marks. We got outside and saw the most tragic looking thing.

There were our friends and allies, in cages that looked like they were covered in some type of black goo. The cages were being guarded by those guys with the shovels. We saw them and they saw us. "They are the enemy!" Monkey Khan exclaimed. "Attack!" They fought back, but there wasn't enough to defeat us. Once the guards were knocked out, we turned our attention to our caged friends. I saw Sally in one and immediately ran to try and free her. "Sally! Sally?" She appeared unconscious, but she began to stir when I shook her through the bars. Monkey Khan ran to my side to help me get Sally out of her cage.

"Uhhhh, huh?" Sally moaned. She saw Monkey Khan and said "Ken? Is it really you?" "Don't worry Sally, everything is alright now." Monkey Khan said reassuring her. She turned to me and quickly backed away. "Aqua!" She said with a surprised tone in her voice. Then it turned to anger. "How could you!? We gave you a home when you had nowhere else to go! Then you turn around and betray us!" "WHAT??!" I yelled. "What in the entire world are you talking about?!" "Don't play dumb with me!" Sally yelled. "We all saw you leading and commanding your troops!" "Troops? Sally, I swear I don't know what you are talking about!"

(Espio's POV)
I couldn't believe what Aqua said to me. She wants me to be the King of Black Tears! "I know," Aqua said. "it's quite an honor, and a lot to take in. Don't worry though, it is also quite rewarding." "No... NO! I will never be a part of this in any type of way! Your going to kill thousands, maybe millions, of lives if you go through with this!" "Weren't you listening Espio?" Aqua said. "They will be reborn! They will be better than before! No more wars, no more resistance, we will all live in a beautiful world of peace!" Before I could say more, Aqua put her hand over my mouth and said "I know it seems hard to understand now Espio, after all, you are one of those people who would prefer violence. But soon, that will all change." she said with a devious smile. A Gravedigger, I call them that because the have shovels, came up to her and whispered in Aqua's ear.

"What!?" she said with a shocked look on her face. "It looks like your friends won't be showing up to the celebration. We'll have to start without them." Aqua said, uncovering my mouth. She turned away from me and started to walk towards the sea. She stopped near the water and rose her hands up and started chanting something I couldn't understand. Suddenly, her troops were chanting along with her! Then the skies started growing darker and darker. 'The reason why she's starting early must be because my friends must have broken free and heading this way.' I thought to myself. 'If that's the case, then I hope they will get here before it is too late.'
